The Story of Wiggly Grow ™ as a Natural Fertilizer
Wiggly Grow™ began in the fall of 2008. Johnny White, the farm manager at HarvestWorks, Inc., was working on building a talapia farm inside one of our green houses. This led into utilizing fish waste for fertilizing the green house and garden crops. We were prompted to research talapia farm development and discovered a similar operation that uses worm composting as a natural complement to their talapia farm.
Already having personal experience in dealing with worm composting, Johnny White in coordination with HarvestWorks administration decided assess the viability of using worm composting for a natural, organic fertilizer.
In cooperation with fish biolgist across North Carolina, North Carolina A & T University, and North Carolina Agrinomics we were able to develop our own unique operation converting worm compost (castings) into worm compost tea (Wiggly Grow™) and interpret the fertilizer data (elements and microbs). This natural organic fertilizer product was then used on natural produce grown at HarvestWorks. The results were nothing short of amazing.
As an experiment, we decided to use this natural organic fertilizer on some plants while using alternatives on others, and no fertilizer on others. The plants receiving a consistent supply of Wiggly Grow outgrew all other plants, resulting in at least 60% larger plants.
The community has adopted this fertilizer as a solution to their gardening needs. This natural organic fertilizer is rapidly developing a gigantic following! Wiggly Grow™ is organic fertilizer, a natural fertilizer.
